Golden Cornish butter
Seriously rich and creamy, our butter tastes every bit as good as you’d expect. Delicious on crusty bread, warm crumpets, or melting through a piping hot baked potato. Bring a little taste of Cornwall to whatever’s on the menu.
Deliciously creamy
Our creamy butter is as deliciously rich as it looks. Thickly spread on a fresh saffron bun or soak slowly into hot toast.
We’re not sure if it’s the luxuriously smooth texture, the buttercup yellow colour, the rich flavour or the fact that it’s churned using Cornish cream that makes it so special. One thing is agreed upon, whether it’s salted, unsalted or our spreadable, you really can’t beat it.
Wholesale Cornish butter
Our wholesale butter is a cut above the rest – the kind that makes your customers close their eyes and savour the moment. Whether you’re a busy café serving up classic Cornish cream teas, a bakery creating melt-in-the-mouth pasties, or a restaurant crafting fine dining experiences, our butter adds that unmistakable touch of quality. All of it tastes amazing because of how we make it, what goes into it, and why: it’s a serious business and no less than you’d expect. Available in convenient catering sizes, both salted and unsalted, we’ve made it easy to bring a taste of Cornish Dairy Co to your business.
FAQs
Learn more about our Cornish Dairy Co standards and delicious products.
What is Cornish butter?
Cornish butter is butter made with cream from Cornish dairy herds. Ours is churned with cream from cows on family farms across Cornwall, grazing on pasture where possible, which gives it a rich, creamy flavour and a naturally golden, buttercup yellow colour.
Which butter is best for baking?
Unsalted butter is best for most baking, as it lets you control exactly how much salt goes into cakes, pastry and biscuits. Our Golden Unsalted Butter’s rich, creamy flavour works beautifully in shortbread, scones and buttercream.
Can you freeze Cornish butter?
Yes, butter freezes well. Wrap it tightly in its original packaging and an extra layer of foil or a freezer bag, then defrost it slowly in the fridge. Find out more in our guide: Can you freeze butter?
How should I store Cornish butter?
Keep butter in the fridge, wrapped or in a covered dish so it doesn’t absorb other flavours. Take it out 15 to 20 minutes before use if you want it softer for spreading. Butter can also be frozen: see our guide to freezing butter.
What are the Cornish Dairy Co farming standards?
Wherever possible our cows graze on pastures and this is independently audited as part of the annual Red Tractor audit.
Although no two Cornish Dairy Co farms are the same, all our farmers share a common set of values and comply with a comprehensive set of standards that ensure high levels of animal health, welfare and husbandry.
We share our farmers commitment to continuous improvement in the area of animal health and welfare. As such, we are determined to work with and support them, to ensure that their on-farm practices and performance levels meet the expectation of our customers and ultimately those who consume our products.
Are Cornish Dairy Co products pasteurised and suitable for pregnant women?
All our products are made from pasteurised milk, and suitable for pregnant women but always consult with a health professional if you are ever unsure.
